She wasAffectionately known as "Aunt E", she was born March 24, 1921 in Elwood, Indiana. She was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School, and was proud to be the first member of her family to graduate high school. She was the owner of Corner Grocery and involved in the grocery business for many years. Edith was an avid Indy 500 race fan and loved going to the race with family and friends. She was past president and a life member of Soroptimist International. She was also a life member of St.George Orthodox Church.She is survived by her sister, Helen Ferris, brother, Bob Mesalam, and many nieces and nephews.
