George Harris82, died on Friday, February 6, 2005 at Hendricks Memorial Hospital. George was born March 13, 1922 in Green County, TN to George and Nola (Laughlin) Harris, Sr, they preceded him in death, along with his daughter Joan M. McDade. George retired from United Van Lines. His sons, John B. Harris of Florida and Charles Harris of Indianapolis survive him; as do two sisters, Bette Jamison Newsome and Kate Remond. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 11, 2005 at Noon, with visitation beginning at 10 am at Harry Moore Family Mortuary, 8151 Allisonville Road. Burial will follow at Mounts Run Cemetery, Boone County, IN.

I’ve known George for many years.
I’ve always thought of him as my own father. I felt that way about his wife, Rose. She was like a mother to me. They were very special to me and my children. I met them in the summer of ’79. I spent many wonderful visits with them. I’ve shared those memories with my children (their grandchildren) Jeremy, Amber, and Joshua.
