Catherine Elizabeth Doyle, 90, passed away at home December 13, 2018.  Daughter of Albert and Margaret Hock, she was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, June 6, 1928.  As a young girl, she moved to Indianapolis where she attended St. Philip Neri School and St. Mary’s Academy.  During her employment at AFNB she met her husband, John D. Doyle, Sr.  She and John celebrated 63 years of marriage before his passing in 2011.  Over the years, Betty also worked for IBEW 1393, Eagle Creek Nursery, and Arvin Sales, retiring in 1995.  She enjoyed bowling and bingo, was a huge Aaron Rodgers fan, and was sharp as a tack when playing “Phase 10” with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.

She will be immensely missed by her daughter, Sharon J. Shaw (Carla); son, John D. Doyle, III (Eileen); grandchildren, Stephanie and Brian Shaw, Sean (Xochil), Cathy and Joy Doyle; great-grandchildren, Ericka and Austin Phillips, Kalie Shaw, and Avery, Thiago, and Camila Doyle.  She is survived by her sister, Mary Jo Judkins; and brother, Donald E. Hock.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 550 N. Rural St., Indianapolis, IN, on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Philip Neri School.

So sorry to hear of Katie’s passing. I was a classmate of Katie’s at St. Mary’s and used to enjoy seeing Katie at our St. Mary’s girl’s lunches. I remember having a delicious lunch at her daughter’s house several years ago with several of our alum’s. Katie will be missed.
