Conley forever remains “my favorite barber”. From his shop at 34th & Fairfield to his chair on 71st Street near Eastwood Junior High I exchanged ideas and conversation about everything under the son. Typical of his dedication was a visit to St. Vincents Hospital in the Fall of 1960 when I was confined to a bed in a full body cast. Suffering from a fractured spine, ruptured spleen, and a broken femur, Conley answered the call from my parents to cut my hair and give me a shave. Unless you’ve experienced it, you can’t imagine how crusty you feel confined to a bed for 6 months. Conley came to the rescue as I was recovering. I stayed with him for years until I got married and moved away. God bless Conley and may he rest in peace. A genuine person and a credit of the first rank.

To the Canada Family, I am very sorry to hear about Conley as he was our family barber from the 1950’s at his and Judy’s shop at 34th and college. Later I went to his location at 62nd and Allisonville road. Conley was a true gentleman and I loved talking sports with him. His son John and I played ball together back in the day. About a year ago I spoke to Judy at Tabernacle Church and she brought me up to date about how Conley was doing. I really enjoyed talking with her. He and Mary had great life. Take care.
