Doris Jean Colclasure, of Carmel, passed away on August 30, 2018.  She was born May 5, 1932 in Falls of Rough, KY to the late Walter and Bonnie (Morgan) Craig.  Doris was a member of Carmel United Methodist Church and Hope United Methodist Church in Cape Coral, FL. She was a life-time member of the Order of The Eastern Star in Coal Valley, IL.  She spent her career as an LPN making a life commitment to helping others. After her retirement she spent the majority of her time volunteering, including The Cape Coral Caring Center Food Pantry,  Cape Coral Hospital taking blood pressures, and numerous special projects through her church including Veterans needs, help with young mothers pregnancy needs and feeding the homeless.

She is survived by her son, David (Barbara) Colclasure, of Carmel, IN; grandchildren, David (Grace) Colclasure, Baltimore,MD,  Elaine (Ricky) Nicol, Davenport, IA, Sherri (Jaren) McFarland, Dalhart, TX; eight great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she is predeceased by three children, Judith Colclasure, Gary Colclasure and Julie Colclasure; brothers, Edward Craig, James Craig and Paul Craig; one great-granddaughter, Kelsey Clain; and four great-great grandchildren, Jaden, Skyler, Carson and Isabelle.  A Memorial Service will be held at Hope United Methodist Church in November and burial will be private.  Memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.

    I am so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed getting to know Doris at Summer Trace. I already miss her! And we will miss getting to see you here ,too! Thank you for sharing her with us!!

    Dave and Barb,
    What a great picture of her. There’s just nothing that compares with losing your mother. You are never ready. I’m glad she had you, and am also glad that she is now reunited with Judith, Gary and Julie. She waited a life time for that, but she never wasted a minute of it. She was ALWAYS busy at something, often doing for someone. She always could find the need that she could fill.
