Jerome Leonard Morgan was born on September 6, 1948 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Warren (Pop) and Vivian Morgan.  Jerome graduated from Xavier Prep High school in New Orleans, LA with the class of 1964. He married his childhood sweetheart, Eluene Pollard, with whom he was with since age 14.  These soulmates were united in marriage for over 50 years.  After marriage, he converted to Catholicism.  From this union they were blessed to have raised 5 children, Vernell Morgan (Desiree), Prena Simmons-Morgan, Timiko Morgan, Jerome Morgan (Cherise) and Horace Toppins (Nicole).  Jerome was a captain with the criminal sheriffs in New Orleans and retired from the United States Postal Service. Jerome was a man of many trades. He was the handiest of handy men, a master mechanic, a contractor, plumber, carpenter, and he loved to fish. His most treasured role was being a husband, father and grandfather. Jerome fought the good fight and stayed strong until his last breath.  He was a cancer survivor in 2003 however it did return in 2019. Jerome transitioned to his heavenly resting place on June 11th, 2019 with his wife, children and loved ones by his side.

He was the only son of three children. He leaves behind two sisters, Delores Moline (Warren) and Dianne Barriere (Donald*).   He also leaves a host of grandchildren – Quincy, Darryl, Jamal, Myra, Avalyn, Alana, Nazjai, Devon, Jerome III, Romero, Aya, Ashley, Kirsten, Courtney, Horace III and Malik and many “other” grandkids.
