Lynn “Butch” Trautman, 79, of Carmel passed away at home on September 11, 2019, surrounded by his family. Lynn was born to the late Ferdinand and Violet Trautman, March 18, 1940, in Columbus, IN.  On July 8, 1962, he was united in marriage to Jane Foster.

Butch is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jane, daughters Cristina Shank (John), and Natalie Newman, son Steve Trautman (Susan), grandchildren Benjamin Shank, Elizabeth Shank, Daniel Shank, William Shank, Thomas Bonifield, Jackson Trautman, and Amira Trautman, brother Terry (Linda) Trautman, as well as numerous extended family members.

Butch was outgoing and enjoyed engaging with people. He spent 35 years working in sales for 3M Company. Butch loved all things sports, especially IU Basketball and Colts Football, but his true passion was always golf and he could be found on the golf course most weekends. He was a longtime member of Brookshire Golf Club and enjoyed working there in his retirement. Butch was a member at Cornerstone Lutheran Church for 38 years where he held several leadership positions and was one of the founders of the CLC Student Ministry Golf Scramble Fundraiser. He will be greatly missed by both his immediate family and his church family.

Services will be held at Cornerstone Lutheran Church, Carmel site, with visitation being held on Friday, September 20th from 5:30-8 PM and Saturday, September 21st from 10-11AM with a memorial service immediately following at 11 AM.

Memorial contributions can be made to Cornerstone Lutheran Church or to the American Cancer Society.

Dear Aunt Jane, my family and I would like to send our condolences on your loss of my uncle Buck. You and he were stalwarts of my childhood when remembering all the times at grandma and grandpas house. Such good times so many years ago. Hopefully you can reflect on the good times that your family had and that will assuage the grief that you all are going through now. God bless.
