Michael Allen Martin, 71, went to be Jesus on November 4, 2018. Michael was born in Portland, Tennessee.  He is the son of James Allen and Evelyn Magnaline Martin. He graduated from Portland High School. He served in the US Army during Vietnam as a carpenter.

When moving to Crawfordsville, Michael worked for ASI as a Personal Assistant. Michael was a member of Grace & Mercy Ministries Church and he worked as a Security Guard in Indianapolis for several companies. He also worked at the Boys School in Plainfield for 11 years.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents James Allen and Evelyn Magnaline Martin; sister Teresa Martin; and brother Steve Martin.

He is survived by his spouse Shirley Largent; daughter Areta Marting; sisters Paula (Nick) Hundley, Barbara (Kurt) Coleman, and Beverly Barton; brothers Richard (Carolyn) Martin and Marshall (Rhonda) Martin.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Monday, November 12, 2018 at Grace & Mercy Ministries on Oak Hill Road. Service will begin at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North.
